Rear A/C blower normal?

Since I've owned the 02 X5 3.0L, the rear a/c blower has seemed extremely underpowered. Is there supposed to be a decent amount of flow coming out of the rear vents or is it supposed to seem like the flow is completely supplied by the front a/c blower. The air flow is weak out of the back vents. If anyone can let me know how their's works, that would be great. Thanks.

the flow on my 02 3.0i is not as strong as the front vents, that's for sure. if the fronts are 10, the rear is maybe a 4. hope that helps.
you do realize that there's a dial to adjust airflow there (and temp), right?

Yeah, I know about the temp and airflow 'turn on' switch/slider or whatever you call it. The difference between the on and off really is very minor.

My rear vents are not that stong either. Also, the temperature adjustment control does not work as well as the front controls.

If you think you have an issue, you can always check your vent connection. If is possible that the vent ducts might not be properly seated. (This can happen if you have removed and reinstalled your console for trim replacement, IPOD install, etc.) If you remove the inside tray located under the armrest, you should be able to access/see where the ducts connect.

In all honesty, I am a little dissappointed in the design of, and with how the rear vents work. The air flow is not that strong, and the temperature controls are weak. Also, if you close the rear vents, air pressure quickly builds up and escapes generating some noise emanating from within the console.
