tires cracked?

i just got a call from the stealer telling me that three out of four of my tires are starting to "crack", they are at the oldest 4 years old... is this common?

he said that if i didnt fix it, the cracks in the rubber could grow and then eventually it would split and leave me with a flat. what causes this kind of thing?

dry rot. silicone spray. the element. don't buy new tires wait for the tread to buy new tires. the stealer always wants your money

theyre also pushing a transmission fluid flush and a fuel inductor flush... any thoughts on those?

A hundred trans fluid change threads here; most opins suggest very
careful going...check for your self via Search Tab. The fuel injector
flush is usually bs, too.

Cracked tires/sidewalls? Possibly; give them a look
yourself, but 4 years is not "old" for tires that haven't
been sitting in a garage next to an electrical field. More
Stlr bs, imo...
I'd look for another dlr; yours sounds like they are upselling
"make work" for the house.

Mileage? Unless you drive in dusty conditions, most fluids such as power steering(?), trans, etc , can be pushed off to 100K - injectors, I would not do unless you've fouled your engine with bad gas or find your fuel filter needs replacing - Maybe brake fluid, but only if you've done it before and know how to bleed the lines properly - printed intervals are only suggestions based on average driving - you adjust based upon what kind of driving you actually do and what weather conditions its experienced

you can do your own power steering flush with one quart of fluid and a turkey baster. three times replace the fluid with an interval of a few miles between each flush.

Sounds like a dealer looking to push profits. Did he also offer to switch the winter air to summer air at the same time?

Take your tires to a tire shop for a better opinion but it's highly unlikely the tires are bad, unless driven on underinflated. And if they are dry cracking after just 4 years, there may be some warranty opportunities from the tire manufacturer.
