Diesel Engine Tuning: do or don't?
Hi,
Anyone experience with diesel tuning from 'serious' companies such as ACSchnitzer, Hamann, Hartge, ... ? Does the extra horsepower affect the durability of the car? In other words; engine tuning: hands on or hands off? Please share your thoughts and experiences. |

http://www.powerchipgroup.com/datasheets/1/Bmw0150.pdf and http://www.powerchipgroup.com/index.asp I think under the "International" selection, you can change countries. Either way, you can take the chip out of the X5 and send it to Powerchip or perhaps a local chip upgrade company would be more convenient. I have a 2005 Diesel 6 Speed manual. I have not done the upgrade, but a friend has done it on both his X5 and 530D and is extremely happy. Colin. |
does the powerchip void your warranty? and does it actually work for non-turbo cars?

You dont have to go to Hamann or others, any plugin box will do the job. If you plan on keeping the car for a long time you should consider replacing the turbo for a larger one an eaven intercooler |

What's a power box? |

It gives the engine 30-40 BHP more. |
to RRD; How many kilometers has your car run with the box and how many more do you intend to do?
|
I got the box @ 165.000 km.
The car now has 180.000 km. I intend to drive at least an other 100k km with this car. It's a brilliant car, and I don't buy a new car every 4 years. Just drive her warm smoothly and don't hang in the kick down too much, and you this engine is almost unstoppable. |
