Transfer Case and Diff's
I am doing some 30K mile maintinance. I have never owned a car (truck) with a transfer case or diff in the front.
So my questions are: 1. Where the heck is the transfer case? Is this a simple drain and fill procedure? 2. Where the heck is the front diff? Is it obvious once I drop the lower engine cover. I'll assume the rear diff is in plain site, just like my 540? With all the great write ups on the main page I am surprised there is no link for these items. Thanks for the help. |

It was purposely left missing to be filled-in with your DIY write-up. :nanana: |
Ha ha. Long time no see... hope all is well.

The transfer case is right after the transmission. The drain and fill plugs are visable. The front differtial is visable after you remove the aluminum skid plate. I changed my driveline fluids at about 80K miles and the fluid looked like new. I changed all the driveline fluids myself in a couple of hours.

Any idea what the capacity is for each (how much fluid is needed).
