Wheels on 4.8is
 

Hey everyone new X5 buyer here.

I am looking for an opinion on wheels. I am making arrangements to buy a 2006 X5 4.8is. I have a choice to get the 20" wheels in Chrome or Painted Titanium silver. The car is Sapphire Black

I would go for silver, but chrome looks nice and classy too.

No way, black on black with chrome is perfect. Trust me.

It's very much a personal preference. I don't like the chrome (or black) wheels on X5's.

If you like the chrome wheels on the X5, go for it. I would suspect that most BMW drivers would not go for the chrome wheels though --- chrome wheels are more typical on SUVs like Escalades.

Agree with Brian5 that it's all personal preference. I like BOTH looks.
Keep in mind though that chrome is more difficult to maintain, the nicks and scuffs are more visible than they would be on the silver paint. If you plan on putting on major mileage, you would need to take them off once in a while and get them re-chromed to keep the shiny look.

I like the chrome and silver but i would probably get chrome becuase there is barely any other chrome on the X5. Just the rims would be chrome.
