Sorry to say that if you put something like that on, it IS messed up!

The X5 achieved a 5 star Euro NCAP safety rating for occupant protection - however pedestrian protection results were dire due to the high front end. These kind of additions increase the likelyhood of serious injury and death - particularly for child pedestrians as their head height is low enough for a direct strike from bullbars.

I also agree with the other posters that these ones are particularly ugly!
