E-brake HELP!!
I searched and came up with nothing..... This past weekend, I used my e-brake handle for the first time on a hill. Well, the e-brake didn't hold (I was in the car waiting to pick up someone.....) I remember in my E46, I had the dealer tighten the e-brake line just behind the handle. Also, the handle has little resistance when pulling up.
Is there a DIY for tightening the ebrake and how hard is it to do?? Thanks! |

To properly adjust your e-brake shoes;
1.remove one lug nut from both rear wheels 2.jack and the support the rear end of your car 3.position the hole from the removed nut at 3 o'clock for passenger side and 9 o'clock for driver side 4.peer into the void and locate the adjuster 5.set parking brake to second click 6.take a flat head screw driver to turn the adjuster through the lug nut hole until you cannot move the wheel by hand. 7. Repeat on opposite side. 8.Release e-brake and apply to first click, double check to see wheels still move in first click position of the e-brake. 9.Re-install and Re-Torque lug nuts. 10.done! |
