Oil Level sensor gasket change
 

I believe that my oil level sensor on bottom of motor is leaking oil.
I bought the gasket ($8 from BMW) and jacked the car up to do it.

There is a large metal plate right under motor with fairly large bolts.

Do you think it is easy or prudent to remove this plate with just a
floor jack? Is it structural and needs special attention?

The sensor has an electrical connection and is held by 3 10mm (?) bolts.
Seems super easy if you can get it out.

Opinions anyone? Anyone does this repair DIY??

Never done this particular repair... However Yes the removing the plate is prudent for accessing the sensor. It is structural and BMW does not permit driving with out it. Fairly easy to remove though.
