Hartge Speedometer

Hey guys, was just wondering whether its true that you have to get the Hartge upgraded engine conversion to be able to fit the Hartge Speedometer.
Theres a pic at this link: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1632459 Im in love with it so was just wondering if i could fit it onto my 02 4.4 X5.

Cheers.

The guage cluster doesnt look much different than the M5 / 4.8is cluster...I didnt notice the rev lights on the top of the tach.

Ok...what is up with the smile...it looks like big grin.....

I got the Hartge 320km/h speedo/cluster for my M3 and this was available separately on the catalogue, but I had to give them my oem speedo/cluster in exchange.Hartge recalibrate the speedo and have their own faces done, but they generally always use oem clusters from customers.

I was looking at the front grills. They look too close together! It looks like the oem grill openings on the bonnet were widened to accept the larger grills! They look like the 2004 x5 grills?

That's interesting...so you send them your cluster and they send you back another one with the updated gauges and the proper mileage programmed? How much for the conversion? Where did you buy through? Any pics?

Nice looking engine and gauges but over all that is one UGLY ass truck.

pepatrick 09-04-2005 11:03 PM

It does have a fugly appearance to it. I like the all white...I dont like the bumper at all.

statdoc 09-04-2005 11:25 PM

It is unanimous...that truck is an abomination!

This has to be done at Hartge(Beckingen,Germany) or at one of their dealers.I had mine done in Germany, in the U.K they are represented by BIRDS
OF UK.Dont know who represents them in the States!Contact them on www.hargte.de.
Forgot to mention!when you get you "new" Hartge speedo,it comes with "zero"mileage, you then have to code it at the dealer.

Totally agree!Really bad taste! In fact although it is a Hartge conversion, some of the mods look very "unHartge".........The grill is awful, twisted and too close together....those air intakes on the bonnet look like a poor Hartge copy...The body kit has similarities to the Hartge but looks weird!
I am going to ´try and post pic of Hartge bodykit later for comparision.....

the site should read www.hartge.de.
On their web site it states that "300 km/h speedo only available with engine conversion",but if you ask them nicely ,they will oblige......

blueagle 03-27-2008 05:06 PM

Can anyone confirm if HARTGE sells the plate ? I cannot find it in their website ....

mrbmwx5 03-27-2008 06:06 PM

turnermotorsport.com for hartge products.

Dannyell 03-27-2008 10:54 PM

opinions opinions...to me the body kit looks ok...not something I would prefer to pay for but not as bad as most make it. However I am more interested in that engine...

manonskisjr 06-04-2008 03:03 PM

Yeah a little too flashy but its still cool. I cant wait for the new Hartge Hunter e53. On their website you can see the e70 they did under (Offroad Programme)

blueagle 06-04-2008 07:51 PM

I would like to see any X5 world guys using a HARTGE set up. How about some pics.........
