water in rear vent

This is weird.....I have water in the rear vent below the front console. The one that is for the rear passengers near the floor. when I turn on the fan control to high, water spits out and you can hear it splashing away in there ??>>!@. 2002 X5 3.0l
Anyone experience this and any suggestions on how to get it out ?
Thanks.

Interesting. Are you sure it is water? Check and make sure it isn't coolant or something like that. If it is water, it could possibly be a leak from your sunroof drain tubes. Problem is this issue is vague and hard to pinpoint. Sorry.

Condensation????

It is water. It splashes out when the fan is on high. Do the drain tubes for the sunroof go through there ?? I can see how the could route thrugh the console area ??

Take a look at the attached picture of what it looks like under your console. It's from my '02 X5 with rear climate. I hope it gives you a better idea of what it could be. No drain tubes, no refrigerant lines, no answers.

Thanks Kevin. Looks like you spent some time at that job !
The water is located at the bottom of your photo where the vent goers to the back seat. I notice the form fit "tube" on the right side of the console "tunnel". So, the water could have come from the front vent system.
The photo is helpful,.....thanks.

If you try to check and see if your evaporator is draining properly you might find the problem. Turn A/C on max and let it run for at least 5 min. Then look under the vehicle. if there is water dripping onto the floor then your evaporator is draining properly. If not. then its plugged, this would result in water backing up into vents particularly the rear because they are the lowest. Try to free up the drain maybe with a wire hanger or something. be careful not to poke too hard and damage the evaorator. that will cost you alot of time & money to fix.
