Ah Navigation. The meal that sticks in many a craw!

BMW should be ashamed to produce a $50,000 vehicle without it being a standard feature.

yes, I came out of a Range Rover Sport lease which came standard with all different types of luxuries including nav/bluetooth/sensors...etc. BMW should have such things as standard...

I have an earlier version of the Avic Z3 (double din) in my M3 and it is by far the best system out there. Highly recommend it!

your best bet is the Pioneer double din unit. Fastest program and a decent price. Don't bother looking around for another option you just found the best one

I would personally go with the new Pioneer AVIC-F90BT model if I didnt already have factory NAV. I did 4:3 to 16:9 conversion and had a lot of troubles but now that is all resolved and I am very happy with it now :)

Is there any aftermarket solution that picks up the BC programming duties?

I'm guessing the answer is no.
