When did XDrive and Valvetronic become standard?
 

My X5 is an '04 model (confirmed by the vin number). The '04 model year is the first year with XDrive and Valvetronic engine mgt system. Sometimes changes/improvements occur over the entire model year and are not all available at the start of the model year. As my '04 X5 has a build date of 12/03 is there any way to tell if it has all the '04 improvements - especially xdrive and valvetronic.
It has 6 speed tiptronic transmission, if that helps - I think earlier years were 5.

Have you tried talking to your dealer? Whever I have a question such as that, they simply type the VIN number into the computer and it tells them exactly what the standard configuration and options were on the vehicle.

All MYO4s have Valvetronic and X-drive. Mine is a 10/03.
