The chrome plate at the towbar is to stop, when reversing, the hitch hitting the bumper. That's a fixed towbar.

What's with the scotch stabilizer what are you towing ? an older van? it looks new so I take it you put it on.

no i have a new caravan its 24f long but i got the stabilizer free so i wanted to use it loads of people have said its an over kill on this car. paul

so your using the alko hitch on the van and the stablizer:wow: :wow:
don't think that will work well together.

Is it a twin axle van

yes but in this case it's short for caravan i.e your towing the van
