2002 x5 3.0

i'd like to be able to use my ipod in my car w/o fm radio transmitter. my car has a single cd player w/o a navigation which means i do not carry the cd magazine in the back.

any advise which one to buy?

You should still have the wiring in the back for the cd changer, so a DICE should work nicely.

as i stated previously, i do not have a cd changer...

MY point was that even though you do not have a changer, the changer wiring should still be there to hook in a DICE.

I would buy the DICE. I got it for my 03 with no cd changer and it hooked up and works great! I ran the wire from the back up under the driver seat and the cord actually through my ashtray(coin holder) and thats were my ipod sits. No cords looks like a professional install!

So, with DICE (which replaces the CD changer I assume) you can use your iPod without losing the utility of your (single) CD player, correct? And you can use your wheel controls to see the name of the song etc. on your Radio LCD. Is that right? Lastly, is this just for iPod or are we just using this for aux input, meaning can we use any other player like Zune or Creative.

Yes that is correct, You can still use your normal CD player and the Ipod plays in aux mode. Im not sure if dice is compatible with other products then Ipod. Wheel controls work and the song appears on the LCD on the radio as well as the one in your dash.

DICE comes with iPod connection only.

There is plenty of info on here - just do a search on "DICE"
