Hesitation in top gear

Hi All,

My 01 4.4 has a strange hesitation/surge, almost like a misfire when going up hills in top gear with torque converter locked up (not steep enough to kick down). Feels like some valving issue in transmission.
Has anybody encounted this behavior before??

Thanks

I recall the 4.6's having issues with the tq converter. Check with the dealer.
