Front-end clunking sound when going over bumps

My 2002 3.0i X5 is making a clunking sound when going over bumps at any speed or steering angle on the driver's side (I can't tell if the passenger side is doing this as well). I've had the CV joint replaced on that side about a year ago - maybe it's coming loose? :dunno: Any ideas experts???

Thanks guys for the replies! I'd just like to make sure I have the correct part. Are you referring to item number 7 in this diagram? It's identified as either a right or left swing support, part number 31356750703 or 31356750704. Do I have the correct part identified?

LOL! I'll make sure when I stop by my Indy I tell him I need a pair of chopsticks for my X5! This should be a very inexpensive repair since he only charges $75/hr and the links cost about $70 total for both. Thanks for the help guys and I'll post to let you know how things go!

Just got the X5 back from the Indy and it feels like I'm driving a brand new car. You guys were 100% correct, sway bar links were bad (mostly on the driver's side) so I had both replaced and the noise is completely gone. $161 total repair bill - not bad at all! Thanks for the assistance guys!!!
