My Amarican E53 in the Arabian Gulf needs consultation
 

hello expetrs
i just received my imported 2006 X5 4.4 from the US to use it here in Saudi Arabia and have some comments and consultation:

1- The odmiter reading is still in miles although i changed the computer on bord to killos, so how can i change that?
2- my radio doesnt read all frequencies but only odd so how can i cnage that, specially in our region most of the channels are with frequencies like 99.0 or 100.0 or 86.0 ..etc.

1. recoding needed from dealership and might need new cluster in KM.

I belive that you will have to have your dealer programe car to Europe Mode. About stereo, i know that you can chage mode on none nav stereo if you enter the service mode. I am not sure that it is possible with nav radio. You have BM53 and europe has BM54

guys i managed to change the temp from F to C which is beside the odmeter but the odmeter it self dont change from Ml to KM
on the Nav radio.. i cant enter the service mode :-s how can i turn off the Nav :confused: then press on select for 8 sec :confused: each time i press on the right button the monitor only turns off :confused:
onething else :yawn: can someone guid me for the thread on how to make a copy for the Nav maps? i tried several DVDs but each time the system gives me an error msg that i have to enter a proper CD/DVD, mine is MK4 so does it accept both CD & DVD maps :dunno: is there any trick i need to know

the speedometer will not change to KM you have to purchase one and to change the vehicles milage to kilos you have to have a dealer program it.by the way i saw the saudi arabian coast from eilat today haha just a funny coincidence. Also you should check jordan and egypt for some junk yards if you cant find one in riyadh.

You dont need cluster change,as your cluster has km/h too. you need dealer to get km odometer instead of miles.
you get used europian e38 cluster face and install in x5 cluster,it needs some skills. or get complete demaged e38 cluster, I got for 50$.

since am new to BMW i used to turn of the screen but when i turned off the radio it worked with me, thanks for your support :-)

i started to manage with Miles so i think its better than paying $$$$ to have this killos instaed of miles:rofl:
