R/T Switch just show phonebook
 

The R/T switch on the steering when pressed just keeps on saying phonebool empty. Isnt it suppose to switch between radio, cd?? its a 2004 X5. As soon as i press it it just toggles between the phonebook and display.

The R/T button just toggles you between the radio mode (radio mode meaning whatever device you were last listening to, including the FM tuner, AM tuner, CD, tape, etc.) and the telephone mode. If you have a phonebook downloaded to the ULF then you can cycle up and down using the ^ and v buttons on the steering wheel and then hit the icon of the speaking face to dial the phone when the entry you want is displayed in the MID.

so it does not toggle between, radio , cde and than phone or just the place where u were.

correct. If you want to toggle between the various audio sources then you have to press the MODE button on the radio itself. That can't be controlled via the steering wheel.

oh ok, i thought it let me toggle between all the audio sources. But i guess just between the phonebook and the last audio source.
