2005 3.0i Simple Mods
 

I am new to the 3.0 X5's. Are there any simple mods to increase power a bit? Also, beyond the freebie mods, what would be a 1st stage upgrade to the 3.0 engine?

if you want a little roar, go with CAI like afe or K&N. If you want power, go with the dinan package.

take it to carconnection in WINSTON-SALEM or KORMAN AUTOWERK in GREENSBORO they good about adding power.:thumbup:

do you think the Dinan High Flow Throttle body is worth the money?

No, I dont see the power possibility in a throttle body when not much else is being done to the car. I personally have the Dinan CAI and ecu reflash. It gave it a little punch, but nothing really worth going crazy about. Its tough for a 3 liter motor to pull a car that weighs so much. Thats really just my opinion. I still love my x5, but I'm not expecting any more than it can put out.

Hmm so perhaps the best way to improve performance on a 3.0 would be to reduce weight.. I notice the only time my car really feels slow (to me) is when i have 3 or 4 other people with me.

New mod option - REMOVE REAR SEATS!!!

Replace with fixaflat and maybe small 12v compressor.

Lol.and roll an 13inches wheels will give the beast take off faster.lol
