Can't tell if the lights on the boot lid are LED's as well

If I was to do it I would want to do those in addition

It's not very hard to replace the tail lights. There's actually only three screws that holds it in place. Just open the trunk and have a look at your left/right side from inside the trunk.

The only thing is that if you have the premounted Bass to the right, it can be a bit tricky to unscrew it.

Good luck!

Quick Question

I tried looking arround.. Anyone know if swapping the stock taillights for led will be a fix for the common burnt socket problem?

They're not..but why do you want LED's on the trunk gate? those lights don't even light up, except the reverse bulbs...they aren't really lights..

Hi primetime, i beckon to differ re trunk gate tail lights.
My understanding (re the drivers manual) is that their is another brake light located there which comes on in the event of extremely heavy braking. In effect doubling the amount of visible brake light.
I, like nedo would like to instal something similar to mrbmw, imo they look really sharp.
Q to mrbmw - can you confirm that this particular type of LED's include the extra brake lights mentioned above ?? Also could u post pics post sundown of brake lights on & reverse light pls ?? Cheers..

Primetime is correct. There are NO trunk gate tail lights unless you have rear fog lamps. The brake light that glows brighter in the event of extremely heavy braking, ie, when anti-lock is activated, would also occur on the normal tail lights (those in the corners). On a normal rear light housing, there are two bulbs for rear lightings (not counting the blinker). When the lights are turned on, both upper and lower bulbs would lit. When you apply normal braking, only the bottom bulb would glows brighter. When you apply extreme braking, the top bulb would also glows brighter in addition to the bottom bulb.
