CHEERS to my beloved X5
Someone who was decided to do highway speeds in the city and cross the double solid line, which in turn resulted in a head on collision totaling my X5 and destroying that piss box 2004 civic.
I'm pretty banged up but way better off than the other driver in that civic. Emergency crews attested to how my BMW X5 saved my life today, the occupant compartment was completely unphased other than air bag deployment. I'm pretty mixed with emotions right now, but well see if I'll be getting another vehicle that will belong to X5world again. I have no pictures as I spent most of my time in the ambulance and wouldn't have had the ability to even think about taking pictures. Cheers to all the great people on X5world, I'll bid you all my adieu for now. |
MAn that sucks. But at least your okay.
|
Very sorry to hear of your loss. Best wishes. Hope to see you around in the future.

Sorry to hear about the X. Vehicles can be replaced. We all hope you will get well. Keep us up to date. |

|
Hope you get well soon.
|
swissfrank,
A car's a car...good to read you are ok! BR,mD |
Sorry to hear this news... but you are ok and that is all that matters. Lucky you for being in an X5. Hope you heal up quickly.
|
Sorry about the misfortune but glad you're otherwise OK.
|
Get well soon! The good news is one can buy an X5 DIRT cheap now...
|
Glad to know you're alright. Get well soon and don't be a stranger....Phil

I wouldn't drive anything else! |
So glad you're not badly hurt:thumbup: . Get well soon!
And take some pictures of the crumpled remains so we can all see how the X sacrificed itself while keeping you intact! No hurry though, take care of yourself first. |
Wow, i am glad your OK! I hope you feel better soon!
That is one of the main reason why my wife and i decided on the X5 (for it's crash test rating). That rice burner must have been a pancake. I hope he gets charged by the police for his actions. |
Good to hear the X5 did it's job and you are not seriously injured. Your accident reminds us all that those nit-pic complaints about the X5 are really insignificant. The X5 is good where it really counts. So, yes, cheers to your X5! :beerchug:
|
:iagree: - Get well. I'm sure we will see you here in the future.
RR:thumbup: |
Wow! Glad you are in one piece..and make sure to keep us updated! Stick around!
|
So sorry to hear about your accident and the lost of your car but the most important thing is that your are ok. A car, as nice as it can be, will always only be a car. It is replaceable and you are not.
All things considered you were pretty lucky. Get well ASAP |
Very sorry to hear about your accident, but glad to hear you came out of it OK. Get well soon.
|
get well soon and replace it with another x5.
|
Sorry to hear m8. I am glad you are OK and that is the most important thing...
Thanks for everything and hope you will still be back ;) Take care of yourself |
sorry to hear about ur accident and x5. mine saved my life when i was rear ended at full speed at a dead stop. glad to hear to ur still around to tell ur tale.
|
:wow: Glad to hear you are OK. Get well soon.
|
Glad you're OK. Remember, your ride should always be ready to die for you, not the other way around. You can always get another X5., one of the safest cars to be in an accident in.
|
Sorry to hear of the news. Hopefully you won't be down for long.
|
Glad to hear you're ok mate and sorry about the car. The X5 did what we all hope a car would do for us in such a situation....take the damage and leave us able to walk away.
Hope we'll soon be reading about your 'new' X5. Get well soon. Post pics when able, might be good to start a wall of honor for X5's that have served valiantly and 'retired'. What say all? |
Glad to hear you're OK. You can always replace a car. And in my book another argument for having a decent amount of metal around you.
A few years back my wife was driving with the children on the motorway (in our then vehicle - a Mitsubishi Pajero) and without warning an articulated lorry pulled into her lane taking the side off the Pajero. Fortunately she was able to stay on the carriageway and eventually pull off and stop without any injury. But if she was in a smaller vehicle it could well have been a different story. |
Your X5 did its job and protected you - may you have a full & speedy recovery
Lately too many people are sacrificing safety for gas mileage - same thing happened in '74 - I admit some small cars are built stronger than back in the '70's, but this trend toward smaller lighter cars will result in the same rise in accident injuries we had in the '70's - history repeating itself, and we still don't learn |
