Please Advise!! 2001 x5 4.4i 96k $18400
 

What should I check for in 2001 X5 4.4i. It has 96500 miles on it. Asking price is $18400. What is the normal gas milage on this car. I have 530i and the normal gas milage is like +- 20.

What options does it have? What has been repaired or replaced? Was it serviced regularly? - A lot of miles - I got my 2001 X5 4.4 with SP(sports package) + NAV and 41,800 miles, but paid much more than $18K - sounds like a good price, but you may have to come up with more $ to replace worn out parts, typically water pump, coolant hoses, battery, brakes&rotors, etc

Figure a few grand in maintenance every year....if you are comfortable with the price, go for it.

As you might know, German cars are not cheap to maintain out of warranty :)

Is it this X5 ? Not sure of the price range you are looking but there are quite a few 2001 X5 on cars.com with lower mileage.

If its the one LeMansX5 found on Cars.com...Why would someone trade in a X5 for an Acura, Hmmmmm!

Lots of miles for 2001, I'd keep looking for something else with lower miles, your gas mileage on these are about 14-16 city, 19-20 highway.
