Beam Pattern for Clear Headlights

A few of our members have split their headlights on pre 2004 X,s to give the headlights a clear look,to install angel eyes & to remove the amber indicator lens. In my opinion, this mod does give the car a very clean look.
I'm not bothered about the angel eyes but i do want to lose the amber lens, this however means i have to split the headlights, this i'm not to confident in doing,as i have Xenons, but may get round to it one day.
What i'm not sure about is,if all the lens inserts are removed this must affect the beam pattern of the lights.
Has a member done this mod & had trouble with
(1) dazzling other road uses &
(2) failing an MOT(UK annual car test) or US equivalent, due to incorrect beam pattern.

There is no affect to the xenons whatsoever. However, the high beams essentially become a spotlight - both shoot straight out in front to the same spot. I actually like it bc it really lights the road up in front of you.

Plus it is great when someone cuts you off and you can blind the heck out of their rearview mirror!!! :wow:

Headlight check is not part of our annual inspection, so I cannot speak to that question.

I think the "clear lens" look is gonna have to stay stateside as i'm sure if i did it on a UK car it would fail its annual inspection. Any UK members know different?
