Need tire suggestions for a set of 87 wheels
 

I just bought a set of 87 staggered wheels and wanted to know if anyone had suggestions for tires???????????????? FRONT 275/40-20 REAR 315/35-20
ALSO- Does anyone know the size for the center caps???

I have Toyo Proxies S/T i saw S/T 2 is out maybe check those. I paid just over $700 for mine love 'em.

Scottsdale..., I'm thinking you probably want a dry weather performance tire. You are going to have to shop around to get a good deal, AND find out who makes something in your sizes. Michelin, Pirelli, Toyo, etc

It really depends on what kind of driving you do. An "all-season" tire now appears to be (correctly, IMHO) advertised for "light snow". If you do the winter ski-thing, then may I suggest a winter setup, four identical 18" wheels & true snow tires. Your staggered setup is going to run ~$1300 or more. My Diamaris finally wore down enough to replace them. I put on Michelin Latitude Tour HP (19" staggered 255/285) because I spend most of my time in the southeast and wet weather.

I'm assuming these are reps - where did you get them?
For the center caps: first check if the OEM ones on you existing rims will fit. Otherwise check eBay among the thousand ads on X5 rims are a few vendors selling BMW caps.

I'm in the same boat!! View this thread from a couple weeks back..some good tire suggestions throughout....you are going down the right path with the size that you mentioned........I am looking at Vredestein, toyo, Michelin...all the ususal suspects...looking for a hot deal.....taking my time....

Here are the correct wheel caps...or go to your local "STEALER", belive it or not they are a few dollars cheaper..just easier to get them delivered to me at my office..

We350z, thanks for the new technician. I've gone to BMW chapman too many times. They are the worst BMW dealership I have ever been to. Bad service and Bad work! I refuse to return.

Thanks for the wheel caps Richi, I doubt the one's I have now will fit. They look too small

Didn't realize you were in Scottsdale. Check out Group A wheels in Chandler. I think its on Arizona and Chandler. I think the guy who works there is Andre but that's where I got my toyos proxes st for 700 cash and that included mount, balance and intstallation.

Nathan at Bavarian Motor Werks is pretty cool he helped me troubleshoot my nav system, and Nick/Ocdy as AZ Bimmer Werks is pretty good too (less expensive)!

i actually just finally put my center caps in since i finished working on my car. I had to cut little squares of duct tape on each fo the tabs to snap them in firmly since the caps AFS gave me were a little too small for most of the wheel centerbore cutout.

I have an extra cap if you need it :)

Thanks. I'll let you know when I get them put on. That's funny you mention group A wheels because I was looking at their website and i'm planning on getting the tires there. What do you think of Vredestein?

I'm looking at the Vredestein and plan to order today. For the price, I figure I can go through a set or two or three before I spend the equivalent price of the Michelin. I'm hoping the tread design is a bit less noisy than the Mich's and the Toyo's which seem to cup a bit with age.

I was alway impressed their tire on a bicycle so I'm hoping for equal impressions on the x5.
