A/C Blower Not Working

The other day the a/c blower in my 2002 x5 stopped blowing completely. I swapped out my 5 month old FSR with anew one and nothing changed. The aux fan appears to be working. The low side pressure line from the compressor gets cold so i think the compressor is working to but the blower in the car just completely stopped working. Any have an idea of what the output of theFSR shouldbe to theblower motor, or an idea of how to troubleshoot the blower motor? Anyway to check if the aid fan is on the way out even though it appears to be working? No A/C in Florida is unacceptable.

You could just need a AC fluid recharge. The AC fan won't blow if you need a recharge also...Thats what mine did.

I just recharged a few weeks ago because the passenger side was blowing warm. The recharge seemed to fix that andeverything was good until the other day while driving the a/c just stopped blowing completely.

jeez..that sucks...I'm not sure what it could be then...Someone else should chime in here..

I had a high side service port leak that caused the passenger side vents to blow warm air with the a/c on. Maybe that is something to check. :dunno:

were you able to check that yourself? I guess if my pressure is low there is a leak, although I don't have a high side pressure gauge. Would this also show a reduced pressure on the low side?

Sorry, I can't help too much because mine was diagnosed and repaired at the dealer under warranty. I had similar symptoms though. Reading over the service papers, it looks like they replaced the final stage resistor then checked the system again and it was still blowing warm on the passenger side. They then recharged and leak tested the system and found the leak at the high side service port.

That is really all I got for you. Hope it helps. Maybe someone else who has changed this particular part can chime in.

Well I took some measurements off of the FSR. Looks like power is getting to it, but there is no voltage coming off the two wires that go to the blower motor. Does anyone know what the signal from the A/C control panel to the FSR should be?

Well I started another thread looking for the electrical signals on the FSR and nobody responded. Any chance one of you would be willing to see what kind of signal is coming from the A/C Control Panel to the FSR? I disconnected the plug from the FSR and took a measurement. I realize that it not being connected could make a difference, but I was hoping someone would be willing to measure the voltage on pin 3 (you can see the pin #'s printed on the face of the connector when its demated) using pin 4 as the ground. So it would be great if someone could take a voltage reading across pin 3 and 4 when the a/c is off, when the a/c is on max and when the a/c is on something like 71 degrees. Maybe my A/C control is bad. Im going to try to get a replacement FSR for the one I just installed 4 months ago, but I bought one from the dealer last Thursday and swapped out my 4 month old one and it still did nothing. Seems highly unlikely that two fairly new/brand new FSR have the same problem, but at this point I dont know what esle to troubleshoot.

I can do most things on a car, but electrical issues are not my thing. I don't even have a volt reader.

I can try to give you this bump though.

Sorry.
