Changing the wiper arm on x5 2001
 

I need to replace the front passenger side wiper arm on my 2001 X5 and I removed the nut only to find out the arm still wouldn't come off. Is there another nut somewhere that I need to remove or do I need a special tool to remove the arm?

Lift the arm to the straight up position. (In order to do that, you may have to turn the key to on, switch on wiper while it is at the middle of the windshield, turn key off.) Once it's up, it released the spring tension to the shaft. you should be able to just pull it straight out. GL
