Installing safety triangle

Hello good folks in X5world

I know the Safety Triangle is included in X5s delivered in Europe and parts of Asia.

Unfortunately, the ones in USA do not have it.

I'm interested in getting the necessary components to install the brackets and the triangle into the rear trunk area of the X5. For those who have it, can you please (if possible) provide a picture on where the triangle fits in the E53 X5? I like to gauge where the brackets should be installed

Many thanks in advance

Hey GearHead, the safety triangle is located behind the rear left removeable cover in the boot on top of Nav gear, etc if you have it, see pic. It is held in a blue plastic sleeve. Hopefully you will have 2 brackets in place. Good luck.

Hi there

THANKS A MILLION for the Picture.

Like the saying goes, Picture is worth a thousand words. I just purchased the 2 brackets. I can see the outside bracket where it should go but will have to dig deeper to figure out where the inner bracket mounts to.

May have to come back and ask for further advice

Thanks again

Like I said b4, good luck. Hope your X dosen't need open heart surgery to install the inner bracket. Let me know how you go.

BTW I also hope you don't need to use the triangle, cause that'll mean something bad has happened to your ride during the night!!!!

It was close .... touch and go... almost had to resort to open heart surgery.

Woke up early and after 'fighting' with the rear area for 1.5hr, got it in. There were way too many cables in the hidden part, fortunately after taking off the rear left side bolster of the rear bench seat, with a light shinning from the opposite direction, was able to guide the bracket in.

Thanks for the picture and support
