Rear wiper blade only wipes off bottom 1/2

Hi all,
I went through my 1st big rain storm (since i bought her in June) in my X5 over the wkend and i noticed that my wiper blade (rear) only cleans/clears the bottom 1/2 of the window. I always use rainX on my windows but winter is coming and it would be nice to see clear out the rear window.

I was wondering if there was a heavier blade that would help this issue. The arm works perfect and the blade just seems so light???

Also were is the year production sticker on the X5?

Noticed it was NOT wiping the uppper 1/4th on mine. I think the blade has become too stiff and not following the contour of the glass... I'm planning to get a new blade.

a new blade will probably solve the problem

What are some good brand of blades that work well on the X5. I bought the X from the local bimmer dealer and they said they added new blades but they sometimes say a lot of things...lol

I was happy how the X5 handled in the very heavy rain going ~70mph!

Many like the Bosch Icon wipers. Model number for the rear is 418A.

Had the same issue.

Replacing the wiper blade will fix the issue.

I have also found that lubricating the pivot in the wiper arm (by the post) helps. It corodes a bit in the pivot and gets stiff. A shot of WD-40 or some other lubricant/cleaner helps ease things up.

Ah, CHEAP solution I'll try that first. And yes, I did notice some corrosion there.
