Engine Light - Ignition Coil

Hi!

To day when I was driving the car out of the garage the car was ´´shaking´´ when revers, and even when i put the D on...
I calld BWM Sweden, they told me it is the Ignition Coil that may be broken...

What should I do? Help

As you have a coil for each cylinder I doubt their diagnoses unless, of course, they know something from your last service that they are not being forthcoming about.
Any SES lights? If so pull the code and post it. You can also look codes up on-line.

I had that problem before. I used the OBD II scanner and it indicated cyclinder 8 has misfired problem. I replaced it and it works fine now.

SES = service engine soon light. It will appear in the bottom left corner of your odometer. If you can't see it, it is not on.

And this is off topic but...nice headlights. Where did you get them?

Sorry forgot to tell that The Engine Light is on (as the picture) is it the SES?
Thank You , You can found them on EBay, can help you search

Page 24 of the manual (See the home page.) labels that symbol as the SES light in Canada. (Might apply to other non USA countries also.)
Cheers.

Yes that does sound like a missfire and most likely is a coil. It is a somewhat common problem with BMW and is why they use 2 different manufacturers for many of the same components. If one has common failure, they already have a backup from a different manufacturer. They do that with everything from coils to control modules. Gotta love planned redundancy for backup!

Get the codes read somewhere and look up which cylinder it is. Not sure about over in Sweden, but around here all of the autozones etc. will read codes for free.
