Bonding phone through blue tooth in X%

Hi All,
I have 2005 4.4 X5 which I bought used. I am trying to pair my Motorola cell phone with the car system. I don’t have a pass key / PINor at least I could find it in any of documentation which came with the vehicle.

When my phone do the search it find BMW10139 device and ask me if I want to bond and if I say yes it ask for PIN (which I don’t have) and pair fails

Any help is appreciated thanks in advance

your pin should be on a card that has your bluetooth info on it. see if the people you bought it from would have the pin or that card. if not, i guess you can go to the dealer to see if they can get the pin for you.

10139 are the 5 last digits from your VIN, it ain't helping in this case but to identify that you are ready to pair with the correct car.
If you haven't got a (paper) card with the Bluetooth Pass key (number with 4 digits) you can try and locate the Bluetooth ULF, it's also written there
It's down there http://www.bimmernav.com/images/x5bt19.jpg

and you can look at the sticker that can be seen here (at the left of the finger, sticked to the SILVER BOX - the ULF)
http://www.bimmernav.com/images/x5bt24.jpg

It should read: PASS: xxxx where x is your pairing key

More detailed info on locating the ULF here http://www.bimmernav.com/BMW_X5_Blue...tructions.html

also, if you have BMW assist the passkey will be on the TCU itself, or you can have the dealer hook up the car to their computer and it will tell them the passkey

If you have BMW Assist in the vehicle, you have a BMW Assist/Bluetooth TCU since your car was manufactured past 2004. You may not be able to see it because there is a black plastic cover that is right under that compartment that you need to remove three screws from in order to get to the TCU.

Thanks for the quick reply , where exactly will I find BMW Assist/Bluetooth TCU unit. I opened the area on the left hand side where the spare tire is located right underneth whereI have GPS and CD changer located . There were 2 screw which i open to lift a black platic fitting and there underneth were lots of wire but nothing like a device . There is one metal unit which have few connection on the up side but no sticker which can tell me the pass key and it is bolted by a bracket.

Boos2006, you can find a rectangular silver box, with arial cable attached, the label should be on one side of it, few roll of small print and in between there is PKXXXX, that's the passkey, I just found that on my X5, and managed to paired the phone.
Keep trying....keep trying....

Boos, take a pic if you arent sure, but that is probably it, is it bolted at an angle? The TCU should be The sticker may be on the side you can not see as tha is often the case or somewhere on the TCU itself.

Yes, the silver box is bolted at an angle, on one face, the label is also rectangular, two sticker had been taken out, probably was placed on the so call passkey card, but you still could see the print PKxxxx on side of the label. hope it is similar to yours...
