Well what else can one do on a drizzly Sunday afternoon :) ...
I decided to give it a try and swap my OEM mirror for a rearview mirror from the E39 M5 (figured it's the perfect mod after replacing my windshield last week) ....

The rearview mirror of the E39 M5 is a plug-n-play mod (just twist off the old mirror , unplug the cable and plug in the "new" mirror and put it back on, just be carefull in applying preasure to the mirror mounting base as you might brake your windshield)
