NEWBIE- Wheels not straight?
newbie to X5 .....So I purchases 20" wheels and put them on my E53 3.0i and got them aligned @ BMW...They are in spec but the rear wheels are sitting at an angle top inward about an inch...this is going to wear the tires on the insides...is there a way to get them to sit straight? :dunno:

 camber adjustment...
have a read!! http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...ber+adjustment RR:thumbup: |
Thanks RR....
Thank you for the link...I will be straight by 2nite..
 intek |
Adjusting the camber will also negate handling aspects. The tires are tilted so that in a corner they become upright. Adjusting that will cause them to roll on the sidewall in a corner.

You can take some of the negative camber out, but my experience is that you'll still have -1.5 degrees at best. Same in the front.
Keep in mind that when you change the camber, you also change the toe setting. Just turning the camber concentrics causes your toe to be out of spec, which can cause other wear and handling issues. |

negative camber is your friend... negative camber is your friend...
You guys know how to reduce inner tire wear with neg. camber? Drive faster on corners! |
OK.....So just leave it alone and deal with the tire wear?
Because the 20" look bitchin...or if i adjust the camber then can I still get the tow straight or is it one or the other? or is there a happy place in the middle:rolleyes: |
hmmm could handle it if it did empty my wallet so fast, had it iadjusted to -1 24 minutes the other day
