Hey everyone I'm new here, and I'm glad I found a place to have my X5 questions answered cause I'm not the most car savvy person. A few questions regarding the used X5 I just got...

First off, it's a 2003 X5 3.0i with 85k miles.

Now here are my issues...
1. At a stop it will shake from time to time I wish I could describe this better
2. Should I stick with getting my oil changed at BMW dealers?
3. What are some good products to increase my MPG's.
4. What should I do about some light scratches in the paint? Take it for a buffing or getting something and try it myself?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome.
Q1 Can't help sorry
Q2 I'm sure others will advise to get an indy to do it, if not yourself.
Q3 Not products but systems. Amongst others keep an eye on your tyre pressure, don't lug around unnecessary weight, don't try and beat the sound barrier at every set of traffic lights.
Q4 I can't help but just wait n the learned here will chime in.

Psst; I'll give you a heads up - post some pics of your new ride.

:xoutpost: :goodluck: Look out for the mod bug :yikes:

Nice looking ride, internal pics ??
Was thinking about the shaking thing and I don't think it's a good thing. Definately shouldn't be doing that.
Take it back to the dealer (today) and get them to fix it FOC (free of charge). Don't wait and regret it.
Just my opinion.

my x5 kind of having the same problem, you press the brake pedal and feel the car has stopped, but it still shaked a little bit, weird, it doesn't come all the time. I am guessing it could be caused by the uneven wear of brake pedals or uneven rotors,

Is the engine shaking or the brakes ? If it's the engine it might be the the sensor that controls the O2/fuel mix (I believe it's the cam shaft sensor or something).
