Illuminated door sills
Anyone have any experience with the fit and finish of these door sills from http://www.wooddashexperts.com/custo...at=3211&page=1 ?
Who else sells this type of product for the E53's? I'd like to do a little shopping before dropping $500 on these but I really like them! If anyone has lit door sills, post up your experience. |
i too would be interested in this, this has been a mod that I have thought of doing ever since i saw these on the 6 series

Nice. I've been looking for one for our E53. I had one custom made by a fellow for my ex-E46 M3:

BTW, I've put illuminated door sills on my old cars since 2000 and they're easy to install and connect. I connect them to the switched door light power. Since eL is low power, there is no need to install a separate fuse, relay, etc.

I installed them on my TL and is a great enhancement to the vehicle. I can verify that the install was quite simple. I'm just not sure I paid $500 for them but I can't seem to find them for the E53 anywhere else.

Icer, do you still have connections for a custom made iluminated sills for our E53? If so maybe you could pass on the information or check to see if it can be done for us?

The guy who made them for the E46 M3 stopped making them back in 06. It was just a hobby for him that he did on the side. So for our X5's, the website above would be the best bet.

group buy?

If we have enough members that want this product then it would be worth asking I suppose. I'm just guessing that most will want to have at least one members actual hands on experience and evaluation of this product first unless someone here already has experience with this.
