2006 X5 4.4i Acceleration Jerky
Hi Gentlemen. I am a BMW girl and new to this forum. Just for the record, I do know a few things about cars and I look forward to great dialogue. I just bought my 4.4i with 19K miles and absolutely love it. I am also aware of some of the "issues" that come with this car but knew it would be worth the risk. I have read a few posts here regarding the jerking or acceleration delay on take off. I have experienced some of this and have had it remapped but it hasn't made a huge difference. Anyone have any ideas for me?

did you have it remapped via a transmission software upgrade from BMW or did you go to a tuning shop?
and :xoutpost: the main reason i ask where you got it remapped is because on an X5 that is not always thought of a great idea to get it done from a tuning shop.. see this thread: http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...ighlight=remap and more specifically, this post: http://www.xoutpost.com/513614-post3.html |
Welcome to X5 world! Don't forget to post pics!lol

Yes, the transmission software upgrade was done by BMW. And, thanks for the links to other posts.
Worth taking it to another BMW dealership? |

most late production 06 have the latest software update for EGS and DME installed from factory, have a qualified tech disconnect the motor on the transfer case and drive the vehicle in failsafe mode, if the vehicle drives better, replace the xdrive transfer case.
