2006 X5 4.4i Acceleration Jerky

Hi Gentlemen. I am a BMW girl and new to this forum. Just for the record, I do know a few things about cars and I look forward to great dialogue. I just bought my 4.4i with 19K miles and absolutely love it. I am also aware of some of the "issues" that come with this car but knew it would be worth the risk. I have read a few posts here regarding the jerking or acceleration delay on take off. I have experienced some of this and have had it remapped but it hasn't made a huge difference. Anyone have any ideas for me?

did you have it remapped via a transmission software upgrade from BMW or did you go to a tuning shop?

and :xoutpost:

the main reason i ask where you got it remapped is because on an X5 that is not always thought of a great idea to get it done from a tuning shop.. see this thread:

and more specifically, this post:

Yes, the transmission software upgrade was done by BMW. And, thanks for the links to other posts.

Worth taking it to another BMW dealership?

it might be, try checking out this thread and see if the reset may be something that sounds useful, also can you describe your exact problem/what is happening in your car? is it jerky at low acceleration/rpm or what?

most late production 06 have the latest software update for EGS and DME installed from factory, have a qualified tech disconnect the motor on the transfer case and drive the vehicle in failsafe mode, if the vehicle drives better, replace the xdrive transfer case.
