Pics off my Blackberry weren't that great so here are some from a digital camera. '01, 3.0, 83K miles, Jet Black/Black, Prem/Sport/Climate, 3M Clear Bra. Purchased new Feb '01.

Looks similar to mine. Have you made sure all proper maintenance has been done? Has your water pump been replaced? Lookin good!

Looks killer for 83k on the clock! I agree on the water pump, thermostat, hoses and belts...if you haven't done them yet now is the time.

Yes all the factory maintenance has been done. No, I have not done the water pump or thermostat (have done the drive belts at 60K). I was just at the dealer for a window regulator and they looked it over and didn't say anything about the pump/therm--are there any signs that they are starting to go or do they just go out ?

Yeah, I'm a bit confused along with BGM. Replacing the water pump and replacing the thermostat?? Is that part of the E53 Maintenance Schedule?
Obviously, if they're both in woking order, this would be a full out-of-pocket expense. Even if the vehicle is on an extended warranty program (say Warranty Direct), they're not going to pay for these as "preventive" measures.:dunno: What am I missing here?

The H2O will go around that mileage. It's been a known issue and you would not know when it will go or not.
