Disable Park Distance Contrl

I have a hitch mounted bike rack on my X5 and everytime i put it in reverse it sets off the PDC. I know that i can manually disable it but is there a way to automatically turn off the rear one or both for all i care. thanks for the help.

The only thing you can do, as far as I know, is to push the PDC button when you go into reverse.

Is there really no way to permanently disable the PDC? Has anyone asked at their dealership??

If you have the BMW hitch with the trailer wiring socket, you can plug something in to the socket to tell it that there is a trailer there. That disables the rear PDC. No luck if you don't have the BMW trailer wiring harness.

You could just unplug the pdc module. If you follow the instructions on here for installing pdc, you`ll see where the module is.

Where are the instructions for installing PDC? I just searched the Articles section and could not locate it.

If unhooking the module works I will do it. Pulling the fuse was my first thought but I just searched the owner's manual and it really gives no info on the fuses at all. I am surprised at that.

The PDC Control unit is under the spare tire by the battery:

How can one tell if the X comes pre-wired (obviously without having to take the bumper apart to look for those connectors)?
