brighter angel eye bulbs?

I have a 2005 4.8IS, the angel eyes are not very bright and seem slightly yellow. They look the same as other X5's I have seem but I want them to be brighter like those on my old M5. Has anyone tried the product listed on the ebay link below? Thanks for any feedback.

Their site say these are easy to install. What's the process?

Will have to agree, the AngeliBright is the best for these X5s:

Brett, where are you located in Austin? If you order the iBrights I would like to see them in person. I have a 2004 4.8is.

Chris
I'm going to order a set. I'll let you know when I get them and maybe we can meet up. I'm in Round Rock.

I'm in RR as well.... definitely keep me posted. You don't happen to have a black 4.8is, sans roof rack, do you?

Texas X5 10-23-2008 10:57 PM

I am in SW Austin close to Circle C, if either of you order them let me know as I would really like to see them also. I don't see the difference in the ones in the links here and the version on ebay for $50 though. I know what you get what you pay for, I just don't like to pay more than I need to.

Hi Tom,

How many watts are the Angelibrites?

I believe you mentioned on another thread that the Mycarr/PredatorIce were 5 watts.

I have the generic 3 watt now and I like the 6000K color but no improvement over stock as far as light level - but definitely looks better.

G Man, did you order the upgraded bulbs yet?

I would still like to check them out when you get them.

Still on my "to do" list. I'll keep you posted.

benathon 11-07-2008 03:42 PM

I got these when they first came out and I don't think they are that bright.
I would definately save the money, it's not worth it's price. They do match the HID lights real good though.

AiB prefers not to get into the wattage/terminology war. Basically they are able to achieve the greatest brightness compared to anyone else's product because of the way the light is extracted out of the LED. Their patented system allows the highest possible extraction efficiency possible (at least until they are able to improve it further with advanced technology as introduced).

Simply put - AiBs are able to use less wattage but extract more light.

This helps greatly with with thermal management which competitors ignore. That's why those products are starting to die more and more.

Hope this helps.
