which Angel Eye kit is this?

Disconnect youe AE harness! If your PDC is ok ,then you know its an electrical conflict!
Also make sure you didnt knock a PDC sensor out of place when you installed the AEs.
Did you remove the bumper or just loosen the top side to get to the Headlights?

I ordered my angel eyes from customangeleyes.com. looks fantastic, but just that PDC problem is driving me nuts. i'll disconnect the AE harness and give it a whirl. thanks for the advice!!

i just ordered a whole new set of headlights from customangeleyes.com. if you have an 03 which i hear is especially difficult to open up, its probably easier to just order a whole new set like i did. installation was pretty easy.

as for the PDC problem, i haven't tried anything yet, will get around to it sometime this weekend. I'll keep you guys updated.

if you dont mind me asking how much did you spend cuz i have a 03 and i would like to do that also.

woa woa...my angel eyes for my 3.0i 2003 is coming in today and i hear its difficult to open up? o_O
someone enlighten me.....

staffop 12-20-2005 01:22 PM

I've heard this too, but am hoping that my UK 3.0d missed out on the new 'extra-strong' glue on the headlamp units.
There seems to be two methods of breaking apart the units as well, one by shoving them in the oven for 15mins and one using a hot air gun.
I have a set of Angel Eyes heading my way from Taiwan but I've yet to make my mind up about which method would work best.
Anyone else had experience of either method with the 2003 lamp units?

imaznumkay 12-20-2005 01:56 PM

i dont know if people are talking about 2003 headlamps being hard to open due to "baking" issues or they're hard even if they used baking method....

i mean if its "baking" that concerns most people and make them say its hard to open then i have no problem but one thing that concerns me the most is will it work even if i used the baking method?

adrian.b 12-20-2005 03:14 PM

I also want to do this mod but from all the threads I`ve read, it seems the glue used in the 2003 models (mine) it very very strong and the baking method doesnt work. Most suppliers simply say you cannot do this mod to 2003 models.. I beg to differ but I`m not willing to use my lights as test lights :-(

imaznumkay 12-20-2005 04:09 PM

quote from Predator Chromium product info from Jlevisw.com....
"Application (Please consult your owner's manual for your application fitment type): ALL X5's!."

erm this is not true then?

adrian.b 12-20-2005 04:29 PM

That`s more of a disclaimer I think. I`ve deffo read in a load of places that the 2003 glue is almost impossible to crack.

imaznumkay 12-20-2005 04:33 PM

meh im prayin to god that theres gotta be some other way of doin this as i research on the internet for this...
hmm maybe i'll go ask my dealer next week since im getting some stuff fixed on my x5 anyways...

adrian.b 12-20-2005 04:37 PM

Keep us posted, because this is the ultimate mod for me.. I`ve done most other things now.

Hello guys ,

I was wondering if anyone found the solution for this problem ,, It's really bother me a lot , I found out that only when the Angel eyes rings are connected the PDC will buzz forever ,, I tried to connect the inverter itsefl without connecting the angel eyes rings but the PDC works fine ,, and once i connect any one of the rings , it starts buzzing ... any solution yet ???
