2006 X5 4.4i...Key unlocks/locks, but won't start key....

The title says it all...The car starts with the plastic key...The master key locks/unlocks the car, but won't start it....If it weren't "mated" to the car, then it wouldn't lock/unlock, right?

This happended suddenly...Overnight...With 33k on the odometer. Anyone experienced this?

you're right about "mated".. mine got "un-mated" because of a dead battery.. It wouldnt open/close the car but I can use it to start...

i say call the dealer.. programming is probably needed. No worries -- you're under warranty.
