You have to take your car to the dealer, the key code must be maintained each 2-3 years ... it's a common mistake and already hapened to me ... fix it asap before you'll be stuck somewhere without the means of getting back home cause it will get worser by time :P

your baterry may need to be replace, and check the charging system.

i checked my battery and it says it's good. do you think it could be a sensor that the car isn't readying properly?

QUY T I HOW OLD IS YOUR BATTERY? IF YOUR BATT. HAS 11.30 VOLTAGE OR BELOW THEN ITS NO GOOD. A GOOD BATT. HAS TO HAVE AT LEAST 12.30 OR MORE VOLTS TO HOLD A CHARGE .USE A VOLT METER TO THE BATT.IF YOURE PLANNING TO KEEP YOUR X5 FOR A WHILE AND DO YOUR OWN REPAIR AND DIAGNOSTIC I SUGGEST YOU PURCHASE A PEAK RESEARCH FAULT CODES TESTER. ITS AGOOD INVESTMENT, BASICALLY PAYS FOR ITSELF.THANKS.

Hello.... I had a similar problem with my 4.4i (2003) after replacing the fuel filter, apparently someone installed a non oem filter, and after replacing to an oem filter all was well....
