RED CLEAR EURO TAIL LIGHTS

1 Attachment(s)
Hi guys”!
Bought these (see picture) E53 X5 RED CLEAR EURO TAIL LIGHTS all looks great, but the problem is i can’t get them to work
The tailgate fog and reverse lights works fine
The problem is that when I put the side lights and the indicator”!
The indicator stay’s constantly on with the front one blinking very fast, and the side light don’t work, I’m using the stock light bulbs
As anybody fitted these?? If so”! Any problems?
Regards

Curious to know the outcome because I was thinking about ordering a set also....

I don't have the answer for OP, but just want to highlight that the links from Post #2 and #3 showing the LED tail lights, are not the same as the one from the OP (non-LED).

I got the exact same LED version and it works without any issue.

Thats what i'm saying. Get the LED's instead...

Looks like the LED replacements will resolve the factory BMW tail light shortcomings, and look better as well...

I fitted some and they had the wrong bulbs fitted in them. If the front indicator is flashing fast then the rear bulb is not connected/fitted and mine had 22w indicator bulbs in the 5w sidelight sockets.

Check the bulbs.

Hi

I have tried the stock bulbs and i also bought some normal bulbs for Uk cars
indicator bulbs that i'm using is: 12VPY21W,
because it was bought in US could the wiring or vaultage be different??

Regards

Yes, this is the correct bulb unless the holder is using the offset pin type as used in some BMW's. Voltage and wattage are correct.

Also consider that Euro cars MUST have at least one functional rear foglamp operational on the drivers side, (which could be either side as UK is RHD and the rest are LHD). Some have a foglamp both sides.

Also many cars using just one foglamp use the opposite side as a white reverse lamp.

It should be very easy to sort the wiring out for a competant vehicle electrician.

my x5 is 02 but i dont experienced any problem at all.

Well, I guess you bought a better quality set than some out there ;)

There are usually flickering/not working problems due to voltage, unless a resistor is installed... But I guess on this forum we usually don't hear about them unless there's a problem, hence the previous statement. :p:

there are many LED tails for the X5, but the one i have is made by SONAR and have no problems,no ERRO,and no flickering at all.
if any one want the LED tails go with the one made by SONAR.(i do not work for SONAR)

Do you have to do any modifications or are they plug & play?
