new battery

hi guys, i have just joined the forum ive been an x5 owner now since june and i think its fantastic. anyway i need to pick your brains with a small problem. i have just fitted a new battery as it was starting to get a bit lazy to start, but noticed the old battery doesn,t look that old although there isnt a lot of charge in it. any way after fitting new battery i have noticed that when sitting in the car the aircon unit is making a faint noise as if there is a motor runniing or something. i pulled a fuse no.34 and it stopped, i think this is drawing power from the battery. as it is doing it with the ignition switched of.
sorry for being a bit long winded but any help would be apreciated thanks.

Hi in my schematic f34 is the power supply for the rear defog. relay and heat ac control.i think the fsr is a common failure with your symptoms being well documented on this site and a relatively easy repair .

yeah, typical problem, though I've yet to hear anyone with a repeat FSR failure :dunno: - I've had my used 2001 longer than previous owners - the FSR was one of those things that was fixed during post-buy inspection & repair - I haven't had to "refix" it since

Very Common for the X5 and there is a article on it. Very easy to do, and about $70 for the part. and half hour to an hour to replace..
