Here we go again.
 

After replacing waterpump. Burping car. Oil cahnge yesterday, Rear diff fluid today. Took the x out to run to the store. Trans slipped when stepping on gas from a stop sign. Left Target and thats when it was really acting up. Slipping, rpm whoulg rev high and bang into gear. Then trans failsafe prog. Came on. I cant win for loosing.

I hope its not the trans. I cant afford it. I heard just the trans alone is 6 to 7 thousand. Why all of a sudden. If the trans was going bad dont you think little by little.

Just dropped the car off at the dealer. Left the keys in the night drop off box.

All I can do is just wait till tomorrow.

Oh crap. Sorry to hear ... hope things workout and that it doesn't set you back much.

If it's any consolation, I just replaced the tranny in my ML430 to the tune of $3K.

Im waiting for the dealer to call this morning. Keep everyone updated as soon as i find out.

What year and miles on the X5?

2000 4.4L 113600. The dealer called today. Did not get the car in the shop today. He said tomorrow morning. I will keep everyone posted.

Got call from dealer today. Needs new tranny. $6700.00. I still owe $5500. The dealer is giving me $3000.00 trade in for a new 2008 335i. My payment is going up 3 dollars month. This really sucks. I hvae taken very good care of it over the past 5 years. Just for the trans to go. I thought long and hard. But if i repair the X and something else major goes wrong. More $$$. Now I have peace of mind for the next three years.

When I finish paying off the Tahoe. In two years going to get another X. So for now I will not be around as much. But I will send a couple of pics of the new Bimmer.
