Check Coolant Warning

About 3 weeks ago the Check Coolant warning came on.

I added about a pint and a half.

Came on again a couple of days ago an i noticed that there was evidence of a small leak by finding residual fluid on some of the other hoses. after feeling around I could get a little on my finger from were the top hose connects to the expansion tank.

I took the hose off put it back on topped off the tank and took it to the dealer.

They say it needs a hose no big deal. Ordered it, will be here Tuesday. Keep an eye on it.

Yesterday I drove 50 miles. Light came on. Topped it off with about a quart. Called the dealer, they reassured me it's just a leak in the suspect hose, offered me a loaner if I wanted to bring it back and just to watch it. Later drove 20 miles. Topped it off again, maybe a pint and again 20 miles maybe a pint.

The temp is perfect, no other warnings and runs like a champ.

Should I park it until Tuesday? I don't need a loaner car.

Or don't worry and ad as needed. Might it be leaking somewhere else?

Crystal Ball users.

Thanks

Skiboats,
If it were mine, I would drive it if I need to, and add as necessary.
My '01 used to eat it pretty good and I always carried a pint or
qt jug of 50-50 mix, esp on trips. 7 years later, it hardly uses more
than a half pint a year...amazing, lol!
I wouldn't sweat it.

Thanks Motord,

When I added some this morning, there was a steady drip from the hose fitting. I actually felt a lot better knowing it was just coming from there.

I suspect there is plenty in the system. For short errands, OK.

Yep, as long as the expansion tank still has some in it you should not get any air pockets or anything. Just keep it topped up until it gets repaired on tuesday, and ask them to pressure check it for any additional leaks after the hose is replaced. They should happily oblige. :)
