30K Inspection
 

My odo just turned over 30K and my service indicator light shows just 4 yellow lights. Do I need to wait til it reaches the red light to take it in for Inspection I?
Or does the indicator have anything to do with Inspection I?

My X and, most I've read about here, seem to turn that Insp I around
30-40k miles...my guess is that somewhere along your car's history,
a reset was done prematurely during an oil change/service and thus,
you haven't gotten to the "next" yellow light/red light at your mileage.

I'm confused by your post that states "4 yellow lights", as it should be
light green lights showing; when yellow comes up, it is one light.

You also didn't state the MY of your X, but I would have any BMW dlr
"run" your key to see service history and maybe the inadvertent "reset"
can be determined from the service history.
