Nav time arrival. Why is it based on current speed?

I finally realised why the time of arrival is always incorrect but is it supposed to be based on current speed?

Example. NYC to Philadelphia. supposed to be 90 minute drive max but the nav starts off at 4 hours then consitently moves as my speed adjust.

My Audi A6 uses the posted speed limit as part of the calculations.

Is everyone having the same issue?

Thanks

Unfortunately that is just the algorithm that was used by the manufacturer. It's normal and I don't anticipate any changes via software updates. As they say, it is what it is.

you have to remember it doesn't factor in traffic or anything like that, and I think it's based off of average speed for the trip, which is pretty reasonable because that takes the traffic into account without "knowing" the traffic conditions. Plus if I drive signficantly over the speed limit or under the speed limit it will be fairly close. I had a drive from Tampa to Jacksonville that was only about 10 minutes off.

I personally like how it calculates and it has been very accurate for me so far.

I guess I just have to get use to it. I gues its perfect if your destinations is right off the expressway. I just wish it didnt calculate real time and more like every few minutes. When I go from 75mph to 95 mph for a few seconds then the time significantly changes. Oh well. Now at least I know its not ust mine.
Thanks and merry Christmas
