2005 X5 - Leaving iPod plugged in

I noticed the car continues to charge the iPod even when the ignition is off. I know the iPod barely draws any power, but could it eventually drain the battery? Should I remove the iPod when the vehicle is off?

Is this the BMW iPod kit?

Maybe if the car will be sitting unused for a month or two. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

You are probably using the cig lighter. It is always powered. Instead, use the power supply from the glovebox - it is switched on/off with the ignition. You will have to get an adapter from BMW (~$15).

Thanks for the replies .... yeah... It's the factory iPod kit ... I believe the iPod stops charging when it can no longer take a charge, too.
