3rd Party Parking Sensor
 

Hi,
I have a 06 3.0 x5 and I want PDC, I went over the DIY but it seemed difficult to me because of the need for bumper removal. I found a third party sensor on the web . http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10283 . It is cheap and I dont need to remove the bumper (i think).Has any one tried installing something like this/third party parking sensors? Also if I try i need to connect to back up light , is there a switch for back up light ?

I don't know anything about the one you posted but it is very short on information. I remember in one of the accessories catalog, a license plate based PDC system. These still need to be attached to the reverse lights in your car and I believe a switch is needed. You may want to search the accessory catalogs on the front page.

With the one you posted where do the sensors go? You need a way to attach them to your bumper which may include drilling.

Also, have you considered a back up camera?
