Same Same, that's crazy! 250$ for a bit of plastic...

I was thinking of getting the standard Bmw single din bezel kind of like the one you have in your photos, then dremeling out the extra space and fibre glassing it so it was smooth and had the curves i want.

Mine was made from wood and bondo the aftermarket bezel places the deck in the center of the dash and i wanted mine on the bottom half under the cover so I had to make one for it. I will be doing the same for the W205, but it will be a while before I install it because I am waiting till I pick up a couple other pieces before starting this new project.

wow ok, how did you go about getting the size and curve of it to fit the dash so perfectly?

Actually it was quite easy to build.... I traced the form of the original bezel onto a 1/4" and 3/4" piece of wood. Then cut the 1/4" piece and cut the mounting hole for the deck. I then cut the bottom 2" or 3" of the 3/4" piece and used my router to round over the top edge, then cut the center portion out leaving 2- (I think) 2 1/4" pieces which I glued to the 1/4" piece of wood. I then used bondo to fill in the gaps and imperfections of the wood, sanded, primered and painted.

Nice job. I saw a black plastic bracket/adapter on a web site recently that said it was OEM BMW. Did you know about it prior to building yours?
